The thought that I'm about to leave my family & critters and head off to the UK feels very surreal at the moment, so I'm having to keep pinching myself!
This amazing opportunity has come about through Box Hill TAFE, where I have recently completed my Diploma of Veterinary Nursing - General Practice (12 months of juggling assignments, family and work). Box Hill and the Global Education Network (GEN) offered 10 scholarships to students undertaking animal studies AND I was lucky enough to get one.
The study tour takes us to Britian, Scotland and Ireland for 3 weeks visiting industry workplaces, universities, research centres and attending the British Veterinary Nurse annual conference.
It's a fabulous opportunity to visit and see behind the scenes places I have only read about - wow!
So at the moment I am navigating my way through all the preparation of international travel. Dozens of questions buzzing around - what to wear? how many shoes can I squeeze in? which credit card is best? do I use international roaming or get a UK sim? have I got copies of my passport? vaccinations? insurance? etc etc etc
I won't bore you with all the details but will update if anything exciting happens. At the moment I am just learning how to set this up, so that I'm all sorted to keep you posted while I'm away.
